Bryson Moore '23 Named Gatorade D.C. Player of the Year
Congratulations to senior baseball player Bryson Moore '23 for being named the 2022-2023 Gatorade District of Columbia Player of the Year! The award recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field. “Bryson was the most dominant player in our conference all year. He was the most dominant pitcher in our league and he swung the bat well, too," said opposing head coach Kyle Padgett of Bishop O'Connell according to Gatorade's website. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound senior right-handed pitcher and infielder was also named the WCAC Player of the Year. He compiled a 4-1 record with a 1.27 earned run average, leading the Eagles (22-11) to the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference tournament championship series. Moore struck out 56 batters in 44 innings pitched while allowing just 25 hits. At the plate, he posted a .364 batting average with three home runs, 26 runs scored and a .568 slugging percentage.
Moore has maintained a weighted 4.15 GPA in the classroom and will play at the University of Virginia.
