Introduction

Message from the Campaign Chairs

As you all know, 2021 is a momentous year in the history of Gonzaga, as it marks our 200th anniversary of offering young men in Washington an unrivaled Jesuit education. The Forever Gonzaga Bicentennial Campaign is a celebration of that legacy, as well as a commitment to continued excellence on Eye Street.
The seeds for this effort were planted several years ago, when the Gonzaga Board of Trustees -- along with faculty, staff, alumni and friends -- helped shape strategic priorities for the school. Those priorities were then turned into five fundraising initiatives, each a reflection of Gonzaga’s mission, values, and hopes for the future.

On this website you will find out more information about each of these fundraising initiatives -- The Tuition Assistance Endowment Initiative, the Ignatian Identity Initiative, the Science, Technology, and Digital Media Initiative, the Hail Gonzaga Athletic Initiative, and the Eye Street Reserve Fund. As you read more about each, we hope you are as inspired as we are by the priorities and goals of this unprecedented effort.

Gonzaga President Father Joseph Lingan, SJ ‘75 perhaps said it best: “This campaign is different from any other capital campaign in Gonzaga’s past. While those campaigns were about building something, this campaign is about building on something --namely the foundation and ideals that have shaped Gonzaga into the institution it is today.”

With the Forever Gonzaga Bicentennial Campaign, each one of us has a rare opportunity to be a part of Gonzaga’s future. We hope that you will join us on this exciting journey as we honor Eye Street’s proud legacy, grow upon our school’s solid foundation, and ensure that Gonzaga is in the best possible position to address the needs of tomorrow.

Sincerely,

Monica Thompson (P ‘19), John Thompson III ‘84, and Michael P. Tierney ‘70
